Below are some of the things you can do to start exploring this picturesque mountain town. Head to the Sunshine Canyon Trailhead to explore the city's location and enjoy the beautiful views of Boulder, the Rocky Mountains and the Colorado River.

Visitors with a rental car can easily get to Boulder from Denver in 45 minutes, and those without a car can change to RTD Route FF1 and get to Boulder just as quickly. Children under 12 are also eligible for the Green Ride Boulder, which is a great option when traveling with the family to and from Denver International Airport. If you rent a car, you can take I-70 / 270 to US36, which will take you directly to Colorado State University and then straight through Boulder.

If you want a healthy dose of fresh air but don't want to bother climbing the Flatirons or satisfying the demand for the Rattlesnake Canyon, the Boulder Creek Path is an excellent alternative. Take a look at the bike path along the creek or look for the hiking trail on the west side of the city, just a few blocks from the river.

This is a 5.5 mile concrete path that runs through downtown Boulder to the infamous Boulder Canyon. It leads from 55th Street to Boulder Canyon and is a good alternative to other trails in the area, such as the Boulder River Trail or Colorado Trail.

In Chautauqua, there is a rock formation known as the Flatirons, bounded by the Colorado River, the Boulder River and Rocky Mountain National Park.

Speaking of flatirons, if you visit Boulder, Colorado in winter, you should definitely see the snowy Flatiron during your visit. Colorado is full of excellent hiking trails, and Nederland is no exception, so no matter where you go, you can see the flat IRONs. Another thing I love when I'm in Boulder Colorado is that I can hike in the mountains and around the lakes. The Eldora ski slopes are also nearby, as are Rocky Mountain National Park and Colorado State Park.

The boulders are rocky, rocky and steep, with a 1-hour hike up and a 3-mile hike back down, all within 1 hour.

If you plan a day trip to the park in Boulder County, it is about an hour's drive if you are traveling alone or in a group.
