National Register of Historic Places for Boulder, Colorado

 

Boulder, Colorado was home to the Southern Arapaho Indian tribe. Other tribes were spontaneous visitors. The first settlers arrived to the Boulder area during 1858. Boulder, Colorado lies in Boulder County.

 

During 1860, the first schoolhouse was erected. The railroad followed in 1873. Sometime during 1860, Boulder’s first post office opened. In 1908, Hotel Boulderado was erected. Among Boulder’s historical figures are A.A. Brookfield and Jacob Ellison. Stephen King used the city as his setting in The Stand. Plus, Boulder was the setting of Mork & Mindy.

 

Boulder citizens celebrate Boulder Bach Festival, Colorado Music Festival, Boulder Creek Festival, Colorado Shakespeare Festival, Boulder Jewish Festival and Colorado MahlerFest plus Historic Boulder Street Market.
